Im so thankful that my working place is pretty relaxed about what we wear to work. This is super basic black dress with some of my favorite and most comfortable shoes.

Halloween

I was a 50's housewife and my favorite part of my costume was that my cherry pie, doubled as a purse...I had my cell phone, camara and ID all in there...and taxi money of course. Even though my costume was plain, people really liked it...especially the pie. You can imagine the jokes, I heard them all.

Honolulu goes nutso over Halloween, its like Mardi Gras in the streets...I left my camara alone for a mere second, I come back with random photos of people I dont know, and things a 50's housewife would never mention.

And so begins the holiday season...OMG where does the time go.

Life has been so busy and thanks to somewhat of a promotion, its just getting busier.

Halloween is taking up at least two days of my weekend, and I can't wear the same costume 2 days in a row...so I pulled out my Middle Eastern meets Bollywood dress and think it will have to be my Friday costume...with of course more accessories and fun make-up. Saturday night, I have a 50's housewife complete with a cherry pie (pics to follow).

Lately Halloween costumes have reminded me of the quote from Mean Girls...

In Girl World, halloween is the one night a year when girls can dress like a total slut and no other girls can say anything about it.

Vintage

I love love love vintage, I love that it has a story...maybe it was worn on a first date, or during a first kiss...maybe its something they hated, maybe it was theeee lucky outfit...its just so fun knowing that someone else created memories in a particular outfit that you now own.

One of my favorite vintage boutiques here in Honolulu is called CLOTH. After hand selecting each piece, the owner adds a modern twist. From reconstructing dresses, to shortening hemlines and chopping sleeves, each pieces has a vintage look with a modern flair.

This boutique is so close to my work, I should make more trips over...but my bank account is thankful that I dont.

A Lil Present

What an insane week of events I had at work, and was fighting a cold. PS a cold in Hawaii is more miserable because the sun beats down on you and you feel icky. Anyways, from game nights and fashion shows to the wedding expo and club night. This week was jam packed with work events.

Saturday night however I got some none work fun in at the new and ultra chic club called Apartm3nt (pronounced Apartment 3). It was a birthday party, so I wore my "present" dress.

And for a sparkly surprise my Dolce Vita Sequence shoes! They are kind of Wizard of Oz meets Breakfast at Tiffany's if you will.

Slutsville....Really?!

So I am standing in this line on Saturday night and feeling cute...I look up at this couple in the line next to me, and the boy is looking me up and down. The he whispers something to his "date" who then turns and looks at me up and down as well....and I see him mouth "slut" as they both stare at me. I don't say anything, but am thinking "seriously"!!!  I wanna say I didn't care so much, but I did go to the bathroom to re-evaluate, and felt that girls were giving me weird looks the rest of the night. And called it a night kinda early!  

If I may be catty for just one second, the girl was wearing a black maxi dress with a pale pink sports bra totally showing and not in sexy way, but more in a gross workout way and rubber flip flops....while the guy was is in a striped t-shirt...so fashion police they are not!

Tiers

I didn't realize how many tiered dresses and tops I had until I started posting them. I've had this dress for over 3 yrs, but I still think its fun!
